Introducing Reno Collective's new logo

One Year in the Fishbowl

We've been in the "Fishbowl" for a whole year now. This also starts the six-month countdown to Reno Collective's five-year anniversary of having a physical space full of talented people who are a part of the future of work. With our 5 year anniversary approaching, we're excited to announce a new logo.

Elements & Meaning

The Reno Collective name is well known in the area so we decided to go with a simpler logo that allows us to use it in ways that were not possible with our old one.

The atom represents the most basic unit of matter. Without them, all things can not exist. Enough atoms in the right conditions give way to new and exciting elements and compounds. It is only fitting for the atom to represent collaboration and collision frequency. Put a high density of talented people, companies and ideas into an environment with just the right conditions and new ideas, companies and products will spark into existence.

The lightning bolt represents a catalyst that causes a reaction or some kind of interaction to occur. At Reno Collective, catalysts can be anyone who is making the space and community more open to serendipitous collisions.

Adaptability & Various Use of Elements

The new logo allows flexibility that we did not have with the old logo. We can now use the various elements: the atom, lightning bolt and wordmark, independently depending on the context in which the logo is being used. The workmark and lightning bolt will be used frequently in website footers or narrow areas. Our new signage and shirts will bear the full atom with variations of the wordmark. The lone lightning bolt, with or without the wordmark, can also be incorporated into collaborative projects with other organizations.

Looking forward

In the next few weeks, we will be launching some new projects to further help you achieve your goals as independent freelancers and startups. We've been talking about some of them for a while so we're excited to finally make those happen and get them into your hands. Keep your eye here for more details!
