Debbie Sessions is the owner and designer of Vintage Dancer, an aggregate online shopping portal that searches the internet for vintage styles for men and women, linking customers to online retailers that sell these styles. With 25-35K site visitors daily, SEO is essential in gaining and maintaining Vintage Dancer’s online traffic.

Managing your brand online is an important part of gaining traffic and expanding your business’s reach. Website content SEO works to optimize your website design and content (articles/blogs) to get more free traffic from Google. During this class, we will do a live evaluation of a website in need of an SEO makeover and learn how to apply the changes to your own website.

HTML & CSS: Build Your Own Website

Colin Loretz is a seasoned freelancer and software developer. He freelances under the moniker of Mechanism and is a co-founder of Reno Collective. Over the years, he has developed many web apps and websites for clients and enjoys teaching design and development as a way of encouraging others to build their own future.

This workshop will guide you through building your first website in HTML and CSS, the building blocks of the web. As a group, each student will build a landing page for themselves using the latest best practices in web design and development.

Who is this class good for?
Anyone who wants to learn web design and development. This course does not have any prerequisites and is great for discovering if you’d like to pursue HTML & CSS further.

Adobe Illustrator Essentials

Kuba Szerszen is a software developer and co-owner of Sierra Wave Solutions, a company specializing in hybrid app development. He currently works on many aspects of hybrid app development including UI design, client-side development, and system architecture and design. In the past, Kuba has worked on a wide range of applications such as loan management software, video and content sharing, gaming platforms, and recently, NLP and AI systems.

Adobe Illustrator is a fundamental tool that allows people to build the geometry that makes up the majority of website and graphic design. Illustrator makes it easy to set up your document and gives common tools and techniques to create geometry and help speed up design. In this class, we will talk about the fundamentals of Illustrator and how to use these tools.

Anyone interested in Illustrator and graphic design. There are no prerequisites for this class.
